ANYTHING GOES National Tour To Make Its Atlanta Premiere At The Fox Theatre August 20-25

The national tour of Roundabout Theatre Company’s ANYTHING GOES, the new Broadway revival of Cole Porter’s timeless classic musical theatre masterpiece, will make its Atlanta premiere August 20-25, 2013 at The Fox Theatre as part of the Theater of the Stars 2013-2014 series.

Tickets start at $25 and are on sale now at www.FoxATLTix.com or by calling 855-ATL-TIXX (855-285-8499).  Special group rates for 10 or more are available by calling 404-881-2000, emailing foxgroup@foxtheatre.org or online at www.foxtheatre.org/groupsales.aspx.  Half-price tickets are available for the Tuesday and Wednesday performances by using the code “AJC”.

Winner of the 2011 Tony Award® for Best Revival of a Musical, Roundabout Theatre Company’s ANYTHING GOES sails direct from Broadway under the direction of Kathleen Marshall, who won the 2011 Tony Award® for Best Choreography.  The New York Times calls it “a zesty new revival with knockout numbers and white-hot dancing” while the AP exclaims that it’s, “so delightful, so delicious, so de-lovely!”

ANYTHING GOES, the 1934 musical comedy about the lovers, liars and clowns on a transatlantic cruise is “a daffy, shipshape romp!” - Variety. When the S.S. American heads out to sea, etiquette and convention head out the portholes as two unlikely pairs set off on the course to true love… proving that sometimes destiny needs a little help from a crew of singing sailors, an exotic disguise and some good old-fashioned blackmail.

Rachel York will star as Reno Sweeney with Fred Applegate as Moonface Martin. The principal cast also includes Josh Franklin as Billy Crocker, Jeff Brooks as Purser, Joyce Chittick as Erma, Alex Finke as Hope Harcourt, Dennis Kelly as Elisha Whitney, Vincent Rodriguez III as Luke, Marcus Shane as John, Sandra Shipley as Mrs. Evangeline Harcourt, Edward Staudenmayer as Sir Evelyn Oakleigh, and Chuck Wagner as Captain.

Roundabout Theatre Company’s ANYTHING GOES features music and lyrics by Cole Porter; original book by P.G. Wodehouse & Guy Bolton and Howard Lindsay & Russel Crouse; and new book by Timothy Crouse and John Weidman. The creative team includes music direction by Jay Alger with additional orchestrations by Bill Elliot, original scenic design by Derek McLane, costumes by Martin Pakledinaz, lighting design by Howell Binkley and sound design by Brian Ronan.

Cole Porter’s roundup of nostalgic hits in the production include “You’re the Top,” “Friendship,” “I Get a Kick Out of You,” “It’s De-Lovely,” “Blow, Gabriel, Blow” and, of course “Anything Goes.”

The New Broadway Cast Recording of Roundabout Theatre Company’s ANYTHING GOES, nominated for a 2011 Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album, is available on Ghostlight Records.

Blue Man Group Returns to ATL's Famous Fox Theatre TOMORROW Night!

FIRST-EVER THEATRICAL TOUR RETURNS TO
THE FOX THEATRE JANUARY 15 – 20

Following a 2011 smash hit opening engagement in Atlanta, BLUE MAN GROUP returns to the Fox Theatre tomorrow night through January 20.

Although BLUE MAN GROUP has toured previously with its Megastar arena rock show, this marks the first theatrical production to tour North America.  The theatrical tour features classic Blue Man moments as well as brand new content.  The sound, set, and video design for this tour centers around a proscenium-sized LED curtain and high-resolution screen create an entirely new, high-impact visual experience for Broadway houses across the nation.

Tickets range from $25 - $65 and are on sale now at www.FoxATLTix.com or by calling 855-ATL-TIXX (855-285-8499). Special group rates for 10 or more are available by calling 404-881-2000, emailing foxgroup@foxtheatre.org or on-line at www.foxtheatre.org/groupsales.aspx. Half-price tickets are available for the Tuesday and Wednesday performances by using the code "AJC."

BLUE MAN GROUP has received praise from critics across the country.  The Baltimore Sun raves, “Blue Man Group packs a wallop.  It's a big, loud, funny, silly, visually arresting production!”  The Charlotte Observer says BLUE MAN GROUP is “a hugely entertaining show for anyone ages 9 to 90."  The San Antonio Express-News proclaims it’s “an exhilarating, thought-provoking, laugh-yourself-silly evening of percussion-heavy rock music, comedy and playful commentary."

BLUE MAN GROUP creates experiences that defy categorization. BLUE MAN GROUP is best known for multi-media performances that feature three bald and blue characters who take the audience on a journey that is funny, intelligent, and visually stunning.  A live band, whose haunting tribal rhythms help drive the show to its climax, accompanies the Blue Men.

"Our theatrical productions take a humorous look at what we like to call 2.5-D space," says BLUE MAN GROUP Co-Founder Philip Stanton.  "An example of what we mean by this would be e-mailing or texting the person in the next office rather than walking over to talk to them face-to-face."

"We say that no matter how high-tech things get, there’s still something human there. We’ll always need others, always need to collaborate. People still need to come together and look each other in the eye.  Through the Blue Man’s connection with the audience, we hope to encourage this human-to-human interaction, while helping people reconnect with their own sense of wonder and discovery, with their own sense of what is possible in their lives."

Performances are as follows:  Tuesday, January 15 at 8PM.; ednesday, January 16 at 8PM; Thursday, January 17 at 8PM; Friday, January 18 at 8PM; Saturday, January 19 at 2:00PM and 8PM; Sunday, January 20 at 1:30PM and 7PM.  For more information visit www.blueman.com.
